Meet John!

We would like to introduce you to John he attends Community Connections and our Supported Employment Program a few days a week. He is ambitious and loves working.

The Careers program started with a discovery process and a job try out where he tried janitorial tasks and was very successful. He completed tasks with great motivation and on a timely matter. John is always eager to work and has a very positive attitude about employment. He also looks for other ways to help out above and beyond what is asked of him. Support staff that work alongside John say he is very personable, extremely driven and loves to help out. John showed great success in his job try outs and is currently working with the job coach on Wednesday afternoons doing his own recycling program. He currently is also assisting the Bottle Buddies team as a relief employee. He recently participated in MentorAbility matched with Pizza 73. John learned how to make pizzas, dip-za bread and onion rings. He used the deep fryer and other machines in the kitchen with only being shown once. He hopes to find employment assisting in the kitchen of a pizzeria.

When working with these programs he is punctual and constantly striving to get the job done well. He stays focused throughout his shifts and finishes on time. John’s co-workers often comment on how reliable and cheerful he is to work with.

Everyone loves to run into John when he’s working because he is such a welcoming person. Having someone with such a great attitude and work ethic would be a great addition to anyone’s place of employment. When you see John say Hi and ask him about his job he will gladly tell you about it.
