Supported Independent Living
Supported Independent Living Services are designed for individuals who already live or want to live in their own homes and who need targeted support to assist them to manage independently.
Overview
It is expected that individuals using our Supported Independent Living Services will have capacity to manage other aspects of their lives on their own and/or with the support of other community resources and natural supports. This service is not intended to provide wrap around supports for individuals but rather to be a complement to the ways individuals can successfully manage on their own and/or with other resources and natural supports.
Services focus on optimizing independence to the level appropriate to each individual and to facilitate engagement with natural supports and community inclusion. While the intention is to fade types and levels of services over time as individuals gain competence and confidence living independently, we know that many individuals will need ongoing services that may vary over time but not fade completely.
Our services are funded by Community Living BC (CLBC). To access our services, you must first be eligible through CLBC. Please refer to the Community Living BC eligibility page for more information.
